Down / Re: Millisle Presbyterian Church records
« on: Tuesday 20 September 16 20:27 BST (UK)  »
Anyone got any information about a Sandy Houston who was from Millisle area and  - to the best of my knowledge - was a minister at Millisle Presbyterian Church? Sandy ( a bachelor) died a few years ago at Seaview Nursing Home but, due to 50 year data protection, I cannot access any records/information from there. Thank you.

My mother had a friend named Elizabeth (Betty) Melville. She lived in North Belfast. She was married to Victor Parker from Lisburn in the 1950s. Betty and Victor died a few years ago.

Thank you, mwylie, for your information. I had seen the censuses and have been piecing it altogether. Didn't know that Robert was a fireman, though. He went to Canada after Annie's birth and apparently died there. I do not know how or where. Any ideas how to find out? I do not think that he is Edward's father  - has just taken the surname. I know we can't discuss living relatives but Edward had a son. Any ideas how to trace living persons?  Thank you.

Thank you  - I shall look at that site. His mother's maiden name was Kennedy.

Help! I do not know where to start! I am trying to trace my mother's cousin, Edward Kell Kennedy, who emigrated to Canada and then moved to Punta Gorda in Florida. Edward was born in 1916 in larne, Northern Ireland, and married Elizabeth Gordon in 1953 in Northern Ireland. He emigrated in the late 1950s/early 1960s. He had one son, (*).

I am trying to trace a my mother's cousin, Thomas McMorran, who left Larne in Northern Ireland and went to live in Glasgow in the 1940s/1950s. He was married to a woman from Pakistan, named Treasure. I believe they had three children who may possibly still be there and with their own children. If anyone knows how I can find out about Thomas I would be grateful.

Thanks, Lilybelle, for your help. Unfirtunately, as I said before, there is nothing else in the postcard that would help - it was sent on 13th May 1907 from Toronto to his wife in Larne and wishes everybody well and sends love. He also says, "xxxxx all well at present." The missing word looks like LIVES or LEVES or FEVES or FIVES or FIRES. The handwriting is bad.  The only other thing I know is that he worked in a gas works in Toronto and was heading west. 'Legend' has it that he was shot dead in a saloon after a brawl! (Don't know whether this is true!) Although living in Larne before going to Canada, he was born in Drumcon townland in Killoquin, Rasharkin, Co. Antrim. He was a presbyterian and his father was called John Kennedy. This is a hard one! I appreciate the time you are spending on it for me.

I should also have added that Robert was a Presbyterian.
