Lincolnshire / Births and Marriage records?
« on: Wednesday 26 July 06 15:39 BST (UK)  »
I recently came across a very old notebook which i was obviously using many years ago(before the advent of computers!), when i first started looking at my family history. In it i found the following:-

Eliza A Atkinson born 1875, died 1958. Book 14 entry 13
John William Johnson born 1877, died 1962. Book 13 entry 3
Dorothy Johnson born 1902 died 1981 Book4A Entry 55
Matthew Askew/Eliza Burrell Book no1 page 97
Albert Edward Dixon born 1896(Sibsey) died 1977

I am guessing that these details relate to relevant entries in the records, but i have no idea where i got the information!! If anyone can expand on these details i would be very grateful, the notebook had been tucked away for many years and i found it when i was having a clear out.

Heres hoping!

Antrim Completed Look up Requests / Ellen Halliday/Holliday - Birth 1842
« on: Wednesday 26 July 06 14:12 BST (UK)  »
Ellen Halliday (or Holliday) was my great great grandmother, born in Co. Antrim 6.12.1842. I believe her parents were JohnHalliday and Mary Fletcher, but would be very grateful if anyone could confirm this for me, and if at all possible, find any marriage details for John and Mary, probably in the 1830s. I realise that is a bit vague datewise, but any help or advice would be most welcome.

Ellen married John Bogue on 2.4.1871 at St Annes Belfast.

Heres hoping!!

The Lighter Side / Re: Unusual names
« on: Thursday 22 June 06 18:33 BST (UK)  »
I have come across a couple of Mahalas in my tree.

I did meet my great aunt Mahala many years ago, she was a very nice lady.

Not sure of the origins of the name though.

Apart from once having a boyfriend called Elvis (who had a twin sister Elvira!!) That is my only "claim to fame"

Hi Sam,
I live quite close to Pakenham, and would be happy to go and have a look for you, and take some photos.
Work committments means that I may not be able to go until next week, but  I will go, and get back in touch after my visit.
Best Wishes, Carol
