Missed your comment about Annette St. Albert Rd is only a hop, skip and a jump away from there-towards Queens Park.
I have discovered lots of my maternal side living in the area between 1860 and 1930s Albert Rd, Allison St, Calder St, Victoria Rd etc. Few flew far from the nest

Think it is a very large lower -case s. Upper-case in those days would have had a top loop.

I'll stick with my first thought when reading it Albert Rd . Number 70,78,79 or 90,98, 99.

Hi, not really any help in finding Harold/Henry' s death and you may already have this but from SP index it looks as though HH and Catherine had twins Henry John and Catherine born 1898 died 1898. By the DReg it would appear they died very soon after birth. If these twins belong to your family there is a good chance HH's father was called Henry.
You don't seem to have  HH's  have you tried looking at the 1871/1881 census in the area where he said he was born for any King born in Scotland, perhaps his parents were Scottish.

Midlothian / Re: Jane DAVIS (?) c1881, Leith

Fiona, don't know if you have this or not, SP index, Agnes Davis other name Davidson died Govan
1911 aged 50yrs. I know the age is a couple of years out but there is also a Joseph about the correct age in Govan at that time.  I think a look at Jane Davidson's Leith BC and 1911 census for Govan are required.

Fife / Re: Anne headland born 1845 kilconquhar?
« on: Sunday 31 December 17 13:44 GMT (UK)  »

Hi Jon, have you got David on the '41 census? Think this might be him, David Headland, 25yrs, male servant,  Yester House, Yester, East Lothian, born OSC. Do you have any further details on David or his wife Anne?  Parents, place of birth, marriage etc.
Just noticed you say '51 census has Anne and the children at Marchmont, do you mean in Edinburgh, SP has them Polworth Berwick.

2nd thought, if the David on the '41 census Yester is correct he was working for the Marquis of Tweedale, there was a similar household in Kilconquhar ( can't remember the family) Kilconquhar House, perhaps Anne worked there.

Hope I'm not just muddying The waters.

Ayrshire / Re: RUDOLPH KLANG OF ADROSSAN

Hi, don't  know if you are aware that Catherine George was previously married to a John Cosgrove. They married in Ardrossan 1860 and John died there 1870. Catherine's 1888 death is listed under all three names,Klang, George and Cosgorve.
Looks like they  may have had 5 children, Catherine 1861
                                             James 1864
                                             William George 1867
                                             Mary 1869
These 4 births are on SP. The '71 census shows a Margaret aged 1 who may or may not have been Mary.
