Essex Lookup Requests / Re: Marriage for Joseph Barber and Mary

I have just looked at the marriages for Burnham on Crouch in 1806 and the one you mention isn't one of them.

Thanks for your replies. I don't think Jane and Sarah are one and the same person. There was more than one Stephen Outing around at the time. I do have access to SEAX and have gathered lots of info. in Mountnessing and Buttsbury. It was only the other day that I realised there were a nest of Outings in Blackmore and the Stephen who was buried in Mountnessing appeared to be the one baptised in Blackmore. As he's a direct ancestor, I'm keen to find his parents marriage to help me slot everybody into place!

By the way, the spelling of the name varies a great deal (Outing, Outting, Oughting, Owting) and finally settled on Outten.

Essex / Stephen Outing

A Stephen Outing was baptised in Blackmore on 13th September 1763. His parents are Stephen and Jane Outing.

I am now trying to find the marriage of this Stephen and Jane Outing (so far without success  :-\) and consequently a pointer to any other children they may have had. I'd be grateful if anybody could help me.

Essex / Re: Did a Perry marry a Perry

Edward and Mary Ann Perry were/are my Great great grandparents. I descend from their daughter Rosina.

When I first came across my Perry line, this marriage totally confused me!  ::)

Mary Ann Perry came from Roxwell and Edward from Barking. As far as I know, they were not related.

I've just been reading through this interesting post and just wondered if perhaps Stephen and Kitty's marriage was a disaster from the start and they parted soon after.

I've noticed a Mrs K Attridge on the passenger lists index. I don't subscribe to ancestry, but if anybody does, perhaps it's worth a look to see if she went abroad.

Thank you for that information. It's very kind of you to look it up.

However, the article in a legal dispute I've seen is very specific to a 1723 baptism, so I think I'll have to dig a bit deeper.

The surname is Gibbon and there is a reference to a baptism in this church in a document I've found in the Glamorgan Record Office, but as the child was illegitimate, I wonder if his baptism entry could be under another surname (an unknown mother's maiden name).
