I'll do my best to get whatever Parr info they might have.

Thanks for  the tip.  I looked at the sight but no luck.  The Rev. Samuel Parr would be too old to be mine, but perhaps an ancestor as the Rev. streak did run in the family.  I will continue to poke around, as this summer I will be in Ireland and perhaps some of the centres in Dublin might have some clues.

I am searching for the Parrs of Cavan also.  I am looking for information for Jane Morrison Parr(born 1844 in Cavan), who married Rev. Samuel (Robinson) Adams of the Church of Ireland in 1868 in the Banbridge district.  She also had a brother, Edward Robinson Parr, born in Skeagh, Co. Cavan in 1843 . It looks like he left to England with his wife Louisa and was a Reverend for the Church of Ireland.  He lived in Norfolk in 1911. And died that same year in Eastbourne (Don't ask me why he was here).  The parents of these two were Samuel Parr and Mrs. Robinson. Family lore has it that when Jane's parents died that Samuel took her Jane's mother's name to get an inheritance.  In fact, Jane's son William was William Robinson, although their earlier children are recorded as Adams.  HMMM... All quite strange.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Bunnygirl,
This may be the lead I need as one of the witnesses at the marraige of Elizabeth Price to Robert Stafford was Thomas Pritchard. Thanks so much for your help.

Leicestershire Lookup Requests / Hulls of Harby
« on: Wednesday 06 October 10 03:59 BST (UK)  »
Looking for the parents of Elizabeth Hull, born in Harby in 1798.  On my Philmore Marriage index, I have found only one Hull, William, who married Rosamond Welch of Harby in 1798.  I am hoping to sort out if they were Elizabeth's parents.  A William Hull is also listed in the 1881 census as being born in about 1804 in Harby.  I am hoping to link the group together.  Any ideas?  Elizabeth was married in 1824, so she wouldn't appear on the census for 1841 with her parents, but maybe William would.  Is there someone out there who has the 1841 Harby census?
Many thanks,
Karen

Leicestershire Lookup Requests / Price family of Stathern
« on: Wednesday 06 October 10 03:55 BST (UK)  »
Hello again from the Yukon.
Thanks to Mike I have gone back a generation with my Staffords of Freeby, but my search has led me to Stathern.  I am looking for any suggestions where to go from here.  I know that Elizabeth Price says she was born in Freeby in 1863, but she was christened in Stathern in 1763, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Price.  If I can rely on IGI, it appears she had several siblings, all christened in Stathern.  I am hoping to go further back than that.  Was it usual for someone from Freeby to be christened in Stathern?
Any leads greatly appreciated?  Perhaps a stroll in the Stathern churchyard?
Thanks again,
Karen

Thanks Diddy,
I have found more info on IGI etc. which might help.  I can find only one marriage in Harby (Philmore's Marriage Index) in the early 1790s which has the name Hull attached. It is William Hull of Wymonham who marrked Roasmond Welch of Harby May 1897.  This would possibly fit as Elizabeth's parents.  I also found a William Hull in the census of 1861 and 1881 who was born in Harby in 1804 (possibly a brother to Elizabeth).  Where to go from here, I don't know.  Any ideas anyone?
