Hi Sarah,

Everhilda is my 2nd cousin 3x removed ... if this helps  you where I fit in!! LOL .  I would love to hear the stories as I have absolutely no knowledge of my family apart what has been posted on this forum.  My Mum didn't know her grandparents names, so stories were out of the question.  It is so nice to find people who can give me a glimpse of the life of my ancestors.  We might have to set up one of those free websites where we can all add our information.   Might  have to investigate that!  Do you know if there are any Bielby's or Bryan's in the cemetery in Patrington?  This is so exciting ...

Regards,
Sharon.

Hi everyone,

THANK YOU ALL again.  Trish I haven't seen the record.  A very distant relative went to the archives and whilst there they had a look at the entry for me, but, forgot to take a copy/photo of it!  This is what he said regarding the record;  "The record for the marriage of Hugh (mariner) to Elizabeth.  Her surname is not 100% clear, but I would have said it began with an F.  What was 100% clear was the rest of the name - Fearneau (or possibly Bearneau).  Elizabeth could write her name and had very clearly and neatly, which seemed to me to read Fearnnau.  Hugh's signature was just a cross."

Gogogadgetlegs Thankyou very much for those dates.  The birth dates I didn't have.   I wonder why there was such a gap between birth and christening?  I am assuming that Hugh possible could have been born after June 1837 and before Sep 1837 as he appears in neither records.

Thankyou both for your help, very much appreciated!  :)
Sharon

Thankyou everyone,

Trish -  I also have been having troubles finding any of the childrens birth information.  I only have found the Christenings, but who knows how old they were at the time of the christening.  So at this point I can't get info from a birth cert.  Elizabeth's death certificate would be of no use as they don't have maiden name on them (usually). I don't think she is a Pearson as the FamilySearch records point against that by the transcriptions available.
I have also thought the Sarah Fearneau is a sister, and have her as for the moment, both stated in the census as born in Hull, so far I haven't found that spelling of the surname anywhere else.
The Mc - these are the marriage records that have confused me with the different variations of spelling.  The Elizabeth Fearne you have mentioned was hot on my list, but it doesn't appear to be a Sarah, there also is another Elizabeth Fearne born the same time, to a John and Ann Fearne, but she died in infancy and it doesn't appear they had another Elizabeth, but they had a Sarah!
MMMMmmmmmmmmmmm

Hello, this is my brickwall at the moment!  My 3x Great  Grandparents Hugh and Elizabeth were married in the Holy Trinity Church, Hull on May 1, 1830.  His name is Hugh Wards.  The tricky bit is her surname.  In the LDS records it is deciphered as Bearneran and also as Teas.....  I have also been given it as Fearneau, Bearneau and Fearnnau!  Apparently Elizabeth signed her own name but the record isn't clear.  Elizabeth was born in about 1806 in Hull, maybe her birth entry might be clearer.  Any suggestions.  I live in Australia.

Thankyou
Sharon.

Hi everyone,

Joe has sent me some headstone photos and I have reduced them for him to post on here.  The first one reads:-

Thankyou Bryan for the photos.  I live in Australia so they are well received by me!  Also Joe, I will be eagerly waiting to see if you find your photos of the Parrott headstones!
