Thank you Deirdre. I have this. This is the John I always assumed was the father of Elizabeth and also the father of Christiana. There were no other John and Elizabeth's in that area to my knowledge.

Most confused now. How can Christiana be the only daughter of this John Ellis when she was the sister of Elizabeth? I now need to re-examine much of what I have.

Thank you for this Wilcoxon. I knew of their marriage in Chester but did not know that Christiana's father was deceased at the time. This has thrown me a bit. I did not know also of the dog attack.

That's them but the more I delve, the more Christiana's husband John becomes a mystery. The Seniors were well respected wire workers in the area but I think John could have been the black sheep.

Any information or padding out of the above family would be appreciated. I start with John Ellis c1799 but I have info for him as a shopkeeper, coal master, farmer and agricultural labourer. Strikes me he couldn't have been all of those.

His wife was Elizabeth Davies c 1797 and I have four children recorded for them, Elizabeth b 1823, Christiana b1826, Edward Davies Ellis b 1831 and Joseph Henry b 1840 all in the Morton, Ruabon area.
