Hi all and many thanks for helping solve this puzzle.

Baby Elspeth born 11 June 1903 Royal Infirmary, Glasgow.
Died 20 July 1903 Royal Infirmary, Glasgow.    Both events reported by Mary sister

Mother Elspeth died 9 August 1903 4 North St, Glasgow.    Parents info wrong and reported by "Brother" Adam Robson who is in fact her partner.

I think this clears up why Mary reported the birth and death.     Although I still do not understand  why Adam would confuse things.    I cannot find an Elspeth Robson in Scotland between 1865 and 1910.

thanks for the prompt reply.    Elspeth died in Aug 1903 tumour of the pelvis   Informant Adam, her partner, but shown as her brother.   All other children with Adam registered as Robson.    Elspeth had 3 other illegitimate children born between 1886 and 1895 Mary was one.

I have a family living in 4 North St, Glasgow.    Husband Adam Robson, partner Elspeth Millar.   They have 3 children together and are acknowledged as parents on BCs between 1899 and 1902.   However there is also a child born in 1903 same address, mother Elspeth, no father and birth registered by Mary Millar "sister".    The death cert is also registered by Mary and no father shown..    Mary was born in 1890 which would make her 13 IF she was in fact the mother.   Elspeth senior also died in 1903.   

Could Mary have been the mother at 13?
Could the family covered this up by allowing Mary herself to register both events
The cause of death was congenital debility

Catherines address on her 1883 marriage to William Rose is:  15 Church Place, Glasgow Road, Glasgow.

What was her father's occupation and were any of the witnesses family members?

Occupation Plumber and Gasfitter.   Witnesses Francis Cxxxxx and Mary Murray.

Is she on any Scottish censuses with her husband?
Who is Catherine Rose?

Yes Winifred is the mother of R-A.    I also presume that Catherine Rose is R-As sister.    On Winifreds death cert the informant is Catherine shown as dau.   I cannot find Winifred on any Scottish census with husband.
