Hi,

6 A H T COY was most likely No 6 Auxiliary Horse Transport Company which was part of the Australian Army Service Corp during WW2.

The Unit was attached to the No 6 Prisoner Of War Group at a POW camp near Murchison in Victoria.

A Ticket of Leave No 42/2266 was issued for John HILTON (Mary 4) on 28th September 1842 for him to remain in the District of Scone.

This was cancelled due to him getting into trouble and new ToL was reissued No 43/2700 on 10th November 1843 for John to stay in the District of Patrick Plains.

On 11th March 1844 John HILTON was issued with a ToL Passport 44/214 allowing him to go outside of the Patrick Plains District and work for a Mr LARNACH in the District of Liverpool Plains and Morpeth for a period of 12 months.

The Passport ToL was reissued on 45/406 on 12th May 1845 for another 12 months once again working for John LARNACH at Liverpool Plains.

On 5th March 1847 John HILTON was issued with a new ToL Passport No 47/739 allowing him to work for Mr DANGAR at Liverpool Plains for 12 months.

Hi Wendy,

The Pardon for John HILTON (Mary 4) in 1849 was conditional that is, he could not return to the United Kingdom of Great Britain or Ireland.

Hi KK,

That is good news, let's hope there was a newspaper mention as well.

Gerry.

Hi,

Maybe give the State Library of Queensland a try, the family history staff are very helpful.

https://www.slq.qld.gov.au/about-us/contact-us

They has an "ask us" section where you can email there a query.

The Library most likely should hold the Townsville Bulletin newspapers and considering you have the full name and death date they might be able to search for a notice.

You also may wish to email the Woongarra Crematorium at Townsville and see if they can help.

Maybe KPO relates to some form of Keyboard Operator, eg, Keyboard Processing Operator!

Hi,

The 1876 and 1884 Post Office Directories do not show a ROBINSON operating a Boarding House in Lilley Street, so maybe Mrs Robinson was a family friend.

Lilley Street runs into Wickham Terrace which is the street where many Specialist Medical Doctors have their practices today, it was most likely that same back in the 1870s.

The 1895 and 1900 Queensland State Electoral Rolls have a Henry MARTIN as residing at Goodna with no occupation registered.  It was highly probable that he was working at the Goodna Hospital.
