Hi Trish,

Yes thanks, I have all that info already. You really are a gem!  ;) I am beginning to think that you could solve most of my brick walls!

I have an inkling that he is the 'Bill' whom I was in contact with 2 or 3 years ago. He didn't give me Isaac's birth/baptism details. I'm fairly certain that I have Isaac's father James on the 1841 census and I think I've also found James's birth and parents marriage. I just need to get Isaac sorted first to be sure. I also found a family tree online with James's parents and about 15 generations further back but haven't confirmed any of it yet, but was gobsmacked anyway.

I did a separate post about Mary Prue, I think I have her parents marriage too, but the couple I found were married at Snitterfield, not Wolverton. I guess Snitterfield is still close enough!

Cheers,

Em

Thank you for your reply. I couldn't find the baptism on familysearch. I will look again.

1851 - Wolverton
1861 - Wolverton
1871 - Wolverton

So, yes, that confirms it for me.

I found a marriage but it's at Snitterfield so I'm not sure about that one. I don't think it's on familysearch.

familysearch has her baptism though i can't see her parent's marriage.Have you checked census to confirm their place of birth?

Warwickshire / PR's Wolverton - PRUE/PREW - lookup please
« on: Tuesday 21 June 11 11:20 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Does someone have access to Wolverton PR's, please? (called Wolverdington on the 1840 marriage certificate). I need the details of my ancestor Mary PRUE/PREW's birth/baptism abt 1810 at Wolverton/Wolverdington. I am not sure if I am on the right track, Mary's parents may have been Joseph PRUE & Ann (possibly TOMES). Joseph was named on the marriage certificate.

Thanks.

Em

Hi Geoff,

I'm sorry you've had a personal crisis. Hope you and yours are alright.

There's no urgency at all. After your first comment about going to the ERO I didn't mind if you weren't able to go to the ERO for a month so was surprised when you said you had planned for tomorrow. I don't mind who looks for Edward nor do I mind when it can be done, anytime is ok with me.

Cheers,

Em

Hi All,

I hoped to go to the ERO tomorrow, but a bit of a sudden personal crisis has prevented it. Will be a week now, at least before I can visit. The ERO files state they have transcripts as well as microfilm, and originals. Happy to look again when I am next there, but please do not rely on me at the moment.

Geoff

Hi Cobbs,

Thank you, they could still be related anyway. Just sent you a PM.

Cheers,

Em

Hi Em.

In reply to your question........Edward is not among the children.
They are George....Elizabeth....Mary.

I looked at the bapt's but could not see an Edward but as Geoff says they are not
the best look at. So the originals at the ERO might be a good idea.

Cobbs.

I'm sorry too, I wasn't meaning that you meant extravagance with certificates, I was just trying to explain that I can't afford to do all that I'd like to do with family tree stuff (same for most people!).

Yes, definitely confusing! I thought you meant the other Hannah, daughter of Hannah Lilley. William went to Sunderland and worked on the railways there, some of his descendants seem a bit shy about sharing info, so I don't know if they have his birth certificate... I will ask if they can at least confirm his mother's identity. Another cousin descends via William's brother Edward but it is unlikely that Hannah's maiden name will be on his 1836 baptism, I will ask anyway.

I don't have certs for the others, would be interesting to know why James died. Emma married Thomas White, they had a daughter Annie... White is harder to trace than Querry so I don't know of any living cousins on that branch yet.

So you are saying Edwards Wife Hannah was a Sister of Sarah Lilley 1812 who married John Griggs? Yes! That's why Edward and Sarah were second cousins.

Thanks for your enthusiasm and kindness.  :)

I didnt mean you to be extravagant with Certs sorry.
I just meant unless someone has the Birth Cert of a Child of Edward 1800 and his Wife Hannah born post 1837 that her maiden name cant be confirmed.
So are you saying you have had contact with someone who has a Birth Cert of Ann/James/Emma or William naming Hannah Quary as nee Lilley?

If you had said you had a Cert I would not have got so stuck on the Bowtell Marriage.
Do you have an exact date for Edward Quary and Hannah Lilleys Marriage as I cant find it?
So you are saying Edwards Wife Hannah was a Sister of Sarah Lilley 1812 who married John Griggs?
What a confusion ;D

Cheers,
Trish :)
