Hi Amanda,

Do you have any idea when you think Adam Crozier may have been born?  Sometime in the 1780s or so?

Cheers,
Clare

Hi there,

I've got the name Christian in my tree various times.  For one of my ancestors, she seems to go between Christian and Catherine especially on census records.

Cheers,

Hi Trish,

Do you have any idea what part of Roxburghshire she was born?  I have found a possible census record in 1841 for her in Hawick here (http://www.maxwellancestry.com/census/41transcript.aspx?houseid=78902087), so maybe a search around the Hawick area for a marriage.  If she married in 1855 or after (which is likely given the year she was born) you will be able to do this at the Scotland's People website.

Cheers,
Clare

Hi,

I have a few Croziers in my tree - all based in Castleton Parish, rather than in Hawick (but they are fairly close).  No obvious links but here is what I have:

1. John Crozier m. Janet Rule (no dates)

Their children that I know of
1.1 John b. circa 1775 m. Isabel Scott

Children of John and Isabel
1.1.1 Janet b. 1791
1.1.2 Betty b. 1800
1.1.3 Catherine b. 1805 m. William Elliot (this is my direct line)
1.1.4 John b.1808 m. Agnes Oliver

Children of John and Agnes (no confirmed dates)
1.1.4.1 Catherine b. circa 1841
1.1.4.2 Janet b. circa 1851
1.1.4.3 James b. circa 1860
1.1.4.4 John no date

Not sure if this is of help to anyone - no obvious links to anyone with the name BRASH that I can see either.

Cheers,
Clare

Hi there,

I assume from your post that he is always on English census records with a birthplace of Scotland- nothing more precise.  Do you have any idea of his parents' names, as this would help narrow things down?  If there is nothing concrete, the names of his children may help (e.g. a first son would normally be named after the father's father)

Hi Tom,

That seems to work with what I found too.  I tried possible corruptions that I could think of e.g. Spark(e), but to no avail.  Your matches in England look much better :)

Scotland / Ireland to Scotland - records?
« on: Friday 11 May 07 11:23 BST (UK)  »
Hi there,

Does anyone know if there are any records for Irish people who moved to Scotland after the 1901 census?  Were immigrants to Scotland recorded at this time i.e. 1901 to 1910 (ish)?

Cheers,
Clare
