Grateful for any assistance with information on William Walker and his family as follows:

William Walker, Sawyer and his wife Ellen Spenceley had the following children:
John Atkinson Walker born 1844 (see New Zealand board) m Martha Elizabeth Firth
Harriet Walker born 1846, York - died 1857 in York
William Walker born c 1847, South Stockton, York m Sarah Ann Hall/Ethel Mary Wilkinson
Ellen Walker born 1849, Grimsby, Lincolnshire m James Parker Stephenson
Samuel Walker born 1860, Bradford (See NZ Board)
Henry Walker born c 1862, Bradford (See NZ Board)

William Walker born c 1847 married Sarah Ann Hall in 1870, Farley, York.  Sarah died and he remarried to Ethel Mary Wilkinson in 1903 at the Parish church of Holy Trinity, Leeds.

William and Sarah had two children; William born c 1875 in Howling near Bradford and Ellen born in 1877 in Leeds.

William at the time of the 1891 census was living with his father, a widower, and his younger sister Ellen at 3 Fenton Place, Finsbury Road, Leeds, Yorkshire, West Riding.  His occupation was Analytical Chemist Assistant.

In 1901 William was married to Mary Ann (surname not known) along with their two daughters; Sarah Ann Walker born in 1897 in Wharfedale and Doris Walker born 1901 in Horsforth, Yorkshire.  William's occupation was given as Dispenser & Book Keeper for Doctor of Medicine.  They were living at 9 Jeremy Lane, Heckmondwike, Yorkshire, West Riding.

Given the common names I have had difficulty with tracking down William, his wife Mary Ann and children Sarah Ann and Doris Walker along with William's sister Ellen.  I have tried free UK BMD and Familysearch or have I missed them?

Grateful for any assistance.

The death entry details for Samuel Walker who died in 1918 is not the one that I am after.  The death entry states that this Samuel Walker was married to Isabella McGill.  His parents were Samuel Walker, Farmer and Ann Gill.

Back to the drawing board!

Thanks Plk74 I appreciate your message.  I will hold this information.  I have learnt not to count anything in our out with out checking further.  Sometimes you do get surprised with what appears unlikely or unconnected information.

Thanks
Wendy

Hi Minniehaha,

From the marriage info that  have on William Walker and Ellen (Helen) Spencely, both were of "Full Age" so I don't have an actual age.

Any information on the Walkers would be most welcome.   I am hoping that someone somewhere will know as you suggest.

The closest that I have come is the suggestion that she was buried in Alverthorpe in November 1885, my earlier posting on the Beginners Board refers but I am not sure that this is correct as I have been unable to find death details to match.

Thanks Crowsfeet.  I have tried the Dargaville Museum however they were not able to assist with any information.  I hope to visit at some stage and check what information they have just in case they have missed some info.

Hi Rosie,

Thanks for your response.

I have already noticed a number of errors in family trees.  As I come across them I try and send a message with the correct information if I have it.  In some trees William Walker's wife is given as Sarah Spenceley when in fact it is Ellen (Helen) Spenceley.

Cheers

Hi again Minniehaha,

I do very much appreciate all your assistance.

The 1878 marriage for Samuel Walker is out as he was born in 1839 and his occupation was an Accountant.

The other marriage I have also ruled out from the marriage printout.  This Samuel Walker was born in Lecistershire and his father was Samuel Walker, Farmer.  This was the most promising as he lived at Te Kopuru and was a Mill Hand.  I was disappointed to find that it was not the one that I wanted.

I will keep searching, something will turn up.

Thanks again.

Wendy

The Samuel Walker I am after was born in Bradford, Yorkshire
