Just as a question, do you think William Clayton could have been his father or do you think that it was recorded wrong?

Thanks for this, the info is great.

We'll check through the links as well to see what we can come up with.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the info, its very interesting.

Chas Clayton? Does your source show his last name as Clayton? Only I beleive this is Charles William Rowntree, Ada's son and we aren't sure who his father was. A previous search pulled William Clayton up as a possible but only because Chas was listed as "son" to head of house.

I'm looking for info on Fred Rowntree born in Bradford, June qtr 1849.

He was living with his family in North Bierley in 1881 but a search of the 1861 census (that was carried out by Fitty for me, thanks) for that area has turned up nothing. Any info would be great.

Thanks

Robert Brown is down as deceased.

Annies fathers name is Thomas Hamilton, occupation is listed as Attendant at the County Assylum.

John and Annie had 4 children as far as we know. George, Arnold, Adelaide and Alma. We're not sure but George and Arnold may have been born in India as we think John served over there for some time. Alma was born in Wolverhampton in December 1910. Not sure where Adelaide was born or when.

Hope this helps.

We've just had a look through everything that we have.

John married Annie Eva Hamilton in Dec 1892. Annie was from Great Warley. Johns ocupation on the marriage cert is Sergant in Leicestershire Reg and he was based at Warley Barracks. John died in April 1928 in Wolverhampton.

We cant find his birth certificate at all, but from the age at marriage (24) and the age at death (59) he must have been born in 1868.

We dont have any info from any other census.

Thanks
