Thanks aghadowey,

I forgot to post this with the above:

Name:                    Francis Mcardle
Gender:                    Male
Birth Date:                    01/10/72
Birth Place:              Markethill, Armagh, Ireland
Father's name:           John Mcardle
Mother's name:           Catherine Loughran

The only reference I have for Hurlford is in his father's will so that might be wrong.

SORRY I JUST NOTICED YOU HAD FOUND THE BIRTH. THANKS FOR THAT.

Hi

Trying to find a marriage [and anything else] about Francis McArdle from Cladymore Armagh who went to Scotland [I think Hurlford] and married a local girl called Jane [don't know her maiden name]

He was born in 1872 and his mother died in childbirth. He was raised by his mothers people,Loughrans in Armagh and left for Scotland as soon as he was old enough.

This information is from the mention he got in his father's will.

Any help much appreciated!

Hi aghadowey

Thats great thanks. How did you find the Marriage? I looked and couldnt find it so thanks again!

I had found the McArdles in 1911 census including Rose, but wasn't sure about McPhilllips. One likely family at Strangmore maybe?

I had the bureau statement as well and it's fascinating!

Thanks for your help

Len

Hi

Any help please on tracing descendants of Pat McPhillips of Portmore House Blackwatertown?

He married my great-aunt Rose (Ellen) McArdle of Cladymore Armagh in late 1920's I think.

She was still alive in 1951 when she was a named beneficiary in her brother's will when he died in Jan 1951.

Hi

Thanks for the speedy replies!

I had tried the census registers already and found the entries as listed above. I don't know where he married,as his wife was born in Derry in 1900 but lived later in Benburb.I believe he also spent time in the U.S. so he may have married there.

I am hoping someone might know the people themselvesand remember them and perhaps even know of living relatives with whom I would love to make contact.

Thanks again,and here's hoping...

I am trying to find what I can about Andrew Kirwan of Rathnapish, Carlow

He was born around 1907, married Anna Stewart [b1900] and worked at Carlow Sugar Factory until he retired.
He died in 1988 in Carlow and is buried in St Mary's Cemetery right beside where he used to live.

Can anyone help with more info?  Anyone on here related to him by ant chance?
