Dumfriesshire / Re: Greenbrae. Dumfries.
« on: Friday 28 October 16 22:38 BST (UK)  »
Hi, his elder Step sister was married to Andrew Nicol and she died in 1962 at 107 Lockerbie Rd. Also his younger sister and brother are connected to 107, so it looks like she took in the family after his mother died in Feb 1914. Did not realise the area was Greenbrae. Looked at google maps, seems to be a car park now.

Still puzzles me he always claimed he lived in Maxwelltown not Dumfries, but every address Ive found is in Dumfries.

Many Thanks for your help.

Just discovered my G.Grandfather Michael Farrell had a daughter to his 1st wife Elizabeth Rowley. She was born Rose Ann Farrell abt 1882 at Cleator Moor, Cumberland. She married John Farmer {Cotton Worker} 1900 and lived at 27 Clarence Street, Preston. They had five daughters Ann b1901, Elizabeth b1903, Agnes b1905, Mary b1908, and Rose Ann b1909.
The only Clarence Street I can find is at Longridge.

Can anyone expand on this or the family.?

Robert Muircroft, [Service No S/3610, 9th Bat. Seaforth Highlanders.
http://ww1cemeteries.com/ww1frenchextension/pozieres.htm] was the 9th child of my GG Grandparents Jessie Cairns and Charles Muircroft. He was a coalminer living at Allan Villa, Lowvalleyfield, Fife after moving from Motherwell about 1912. He was the starting point in the search of my family tree. One of my chores when visiting my Grandmother was polishing her Brass's which included the 'brass penny' given to Jessie C Muircroft.
