Hello there,

This is what I love about Rootschat and the Internet in general. You post something and years later it can still provide fresh infomation.
It just shows you, never give up on a topic.

Thats very interesting about those folks in the Milltown parish records.

Could you tell me, how complete are the Milltown records?
Of course if they are in good shape and thats the only Patrick Loughlin born to a Patrick Loughlin anywhere around the 1861 date then its a good bet, thats my man.

Thanks

Jonathan

Hello,

Could anyone locate a James Walker on the 1841 census.

He is a carpenter by trade and may be living in B_auty Bank, Stourbridge.

Sorry about the blank in that address, it is all I can make out from his daughter Elizabeth's marriage in 1842.
That is also why I said he 'may' be living at that address.

That is all I know of Mr Walker

Thank You

Well I have just got James Bridgens and Elizabeth Walker's marriage certificate through the post:

17th March 1842, Parish Church, Dudley

James Bridgens - of full age - Bachelor - Glassmaker - Brettell Lane (Parish of Kingswinford) - Father, Thomas Bridgens a Glassmaker

Elizabeth Walker - Of full age - Spinster - B_auty Bank, Stourbridge - Father, James Walker a Carpenter

Witnesses - William Wright and Eliza Edwards

What to make of that???

Is then Thomas (Baptised 23.02.1806) son of Benjamin and Sarah the father???

Nice to see Brettell Lane on the certificate.
There are a few Bridgens families living in that street in 1841 thanks to Ciderdrinker.
One of them is a Thomas and Sarah (Nee Robinson) - He is a Glassmaker as well. They have quite a few children, who are living with them.
Not our James' though.
Not far away at Benjamin's however.

I like the look of:

James Bridgens son of Thomas Bridgens, son of Benjamin Bridgens, son of Thomas Bridgens

With the new details from the certificate anyone got any fresh information???

Thank you all very much ;D

I am in the process of getting James and Elizabeth's 1842 marriage certifcate.

Then we'll see if my theory is correct.

That James aged 15 in 1842 in the household of 80 year old Benjamin in his grandson.
So that would leave William and John christened 1790 and 1795 as the best candidates for James' father. Possibly also Henry, christened in 1803.
Good link there already, as James' only child was called Henry.

Also outside chance Ann christened 1799 is James' mother. As I have the details of a James Bridgens christened in 1820 in the Old Swinford who mother's name is Ann. That is the only record of his parents.
You might think that if they mention his mother they would mention his father?
So could be Ann's out of wedlock?

We will see...

Will keep you informed of any new information that may come my way with the certificate.

Hello,

My Great Grandfather PATRICK LOUGHLIN and my Great Grandmother JULIA CONNOLLY list this street as their address at the time of their marriage in November 1892.

Patrick is at number 12 while Julia doesn't give a number.

Could anyone find out if there are any other people named LOUGHLIN or CONNOLLY living in this street. I've checked the 1911 census and drawn a blank.
1891 would be the best bet.

Sorry if this should be in requests. Just that I wasn't asking about a particular person or family

Thanks

Thank you all very much  :)

This is all looking very promising.

Would you say Sarah's maiden name is HURST OR HIRST???

Anyone got James Bailey and James Bailey sr on the 1841 census?

Can someone explain how Nancy is missing on the 1861 census?
No Nancy Bailey's aged 4 anywhere?
Could she be with relations and her surname as been accidently taken down as that of her relations.
I'm sure you've thought of that but just in case.

Thanks again

Hi,

Thanks, seems we're starting to piece it together.

My James Bailey was married to a lady called Sarah. Her first name and her birthplace and date of Oldham, 1834 is all I know of her.
She must have died between the 1871 and 1881 census' because James is married to a Jane, who's former married name was Midgley. As they are living with some of her children from that pervious marriage.

Does anyone have the full details of this James Bailey from the 1861 census.
He should be still married to his first wife Sarah and have three of their children - Samuel, Nancy and Thomas.

That marriage in 1852 looks good. All i've managed is to find lots of James Bailey's marrying a Sarah in the Manchester area.
