I`m looking for my uncle John Reed/Reid who moved to Canada on the 23 Aug 1929 from Liverpool arrived on the 31 Aug 1929, on the Doric, he was only 16 years of age. His occupation in Liverpool was a shopboy and when he went to Canada he was a Cowboy, but I don`t know where or when or who with. I was told that he may have gone to St Georges Home,1153 Wellington, Ottawa.
Wondered what ever happened to him and did he ever marry and have a family of his own? Any information would be great to receive. :) Thank you very much for all your help.

Hi ...So sorry for late reply. I have just been double checking .....my dad was supposed to have a brother John .....who I cant find a birth for in Liverpool, unless the documents were destroyed in the second world war?!! He travelled to Canada according to my cousin on the 28th August 1929 (gosh he was only 16!!!). His occupation was Shopboy, which could have been with his older brother in a local Grocers.( Can`t believe grandad let him go.... :-\) I know they had an argument about surnames he could have changed his to Reid. Ancsetry has one called RAID, which is REID, they have spelt it wrong. There is another John Reed who sailed a year earlier on the 25th Aug 1928. Address was B.I.C.A. (can`t find out what that means..!?). He was 17, occupation says Farmer. I do know he was a Cowboy, taking care of the cattle- who he used to whistle to ,so he didn`t scare them. I found another John Reed he was alot older ...23 and an engineer, sailing date was much earlier.

Yes the family you have is the right one with William,Ellen, (John?) Stanley etc etc ......

yes that's correct William ...Ellen then Stanley. I just thought 1918 was the last possible year before my other Aunts and Uncles were born. Unless my cousin mean`t a different uncle ........I always was told it was my dad`s brother!!!!!!

Thank you to everyone for your help. He was supposed to be my Dad`s elder brother. But that could be a mistake as my other uncle born in 1910 seems to be the eldest. There are 6 years that he could have been born. 1912,1913,1915,1916,1917 and 1918. My cousin said he went to Canada, Montreal Quebec on the 28th August 1929.
McCann was his mother`s maiden name, and not John and Sarah as parents....it was Thomas and Ellen. Seems to be a mystery. ??? ???

Looking for uncle John Reed born in Liverpool about 1912 to 1918. I can`t find him found all the other siblings. He emigrated to Canada in 1929 28th August, heading for Montreal. He may have changed his name to Reid once in Canada. Wondered did he ever marry and have a family?

Possibly step brothers and step sisters to their sister born in Ireland in 1925, and maybe now grandchildren? Last know address was New York but also a place or home called Drumemos?  ???
