Hello!
My name is Georgia and I am struggling to find my great grandparents' parents.
My granddad was Philip J Slack (b. 20 dec 1947 in wilmslow, d. aug 2007 in stockport)
His father: Bernard H Slack (b. 27 nov 1913 in Bucklow, d. sep 1976 in Manchester)
His mother: Elsie Buck (b. 13 aug 1915 / 1917? in Stalybridge, d. unknown?)
Bernard and elsie married in dec 1936 in Bucklow, Cheshire.
After looking at Bernard's birth record, his mother's maiden name is Hood. I can't find her first name or even locate her. Again I cannot locate his father either.
The same with Elsie. I was looking on CheshireBMD and noticed there was a record that said her mother's maiden name was Elliott. No surname or forename of her father and no forename for her mother.
I can't locate a marriage for an Elliott and a Buck, so this leads me to believe Elsie was illegitimate?
I really need help with these matters because I am stuck
