Thanks a lot for that, Janette & THP  :)

I'll have to be educated more on NZ genealogy!

New Zealand Completed Requests / Completed - Possible NZ Deaths
« on: Monday 18 February 13 10:31 GMT (UK)  »
I am wondering if anyone can tell me (if possible, maybe to recent) the deaths of Oliver Richard Cobden SALE, born, 13 nov 1900, wokingham, berkshire, England but appears on 1978 & 1981 NZ Electoral rolls, along with his wife, Freda Madge Sale (nee kent).

heir deaths maybe too recent. I'm unsure re: NZ deaths.

Thanks.

Yeah....I think I'll pursue this guy and hisdescendants to see any familiar patterns. On the 1911 Wales census, he states he was born in Australia, so having been conceived in Australia isn't far of it :)

Thanks.

The Common Room / Re: Tracing a relative!!!
« on: Wednesday 30 January 13 10:12 GMT (UK)  »
Thanks Mike! Worth contemplating but as I hadn't thought of looking in Wales before, what do you think of the following:

1891 Wales census, Gwersyllt, Wheatsheaf, Denbighshire. Class: RG12; Piece: 4617; Folio: 28; Page: 20.

The fact that he has 3 children, namely: Ceciley, Annie & Charles are strong names in his Mother's family.

Although the same guy on the 1901 Wales census states his birth as Pontblyddin, Flintshire, Wales. Well, at least his half siblings were born there.

The search will go on....Ferguson or Wright? Haha

Regards.

The Common Room / Tracing a relative! Thomas William Wright, b. 5 Jul 1858, Kendal
« on: Wednesday 30 January 13 06:00 GMT (UK)  »
Help  :D I need some assistance in tracing a relative on England census' or marriage & death. His name is Thomas William Wright, b. 5 Jul 1858, Kendal, Westmorland. Son of Cicely Wright (nee Jopson), b. 1833, Longton, Staffordshire & Charles Wright, d. 8 Jan 1858, Maldon, Victoria, Australia. Cicely left Australia after Charles Wright's death bound for England and was pregnant with Thomas.

Now Thomas first appears on 1861 England census aged 2, where his mother has remarried to James Ferguson, b. 1818, Kendal, Westmorland. Class: RG 9; Piece: 3970; Folio: 55; Page: 31.

I find him next on 1871 Wales census as Thomas W.R.Ferguson in Leeswood, Flintshire, Wales, along with his step siblings.  Class: RG10; Piece: 5649; Folio: 8; Page: 8.

That's when I loose track of him...there are some possibilities but not 100% accurate.

Any assistance would be great!

« on: Tuesday 29 January 13 11:18 GMT (UK)  »
Can someone please tell me the occupation of: William Holbrook, b. 1855, Derby, Derbyshire, son of Elizabeth Holbrook, b. 1825, Derby (Widow). He, along with his brother George appear on the 1871 England census at St Alkmund, Derbyshire, England.

Cheers.

The Coralie Elvira Schott that was cremated in 1996, died aged 102 & looking at Tas Pioneer Index, she was born 21 Dec 1893,
Strahan to parents: William Edward Schott & Lillian Freeman.

That solves one mystery!
