Private William Thomson, 5th Bn. Gordon Highlanders, Service No. 240342, died March 21st. 1918.
Pozieres Memorial, Panel 73.
These details come from the Commonwealth War Graves Com. web site. Unfortunately no age or relations are listed for him.

Hi Bronwen, to answer your question about name on 2nd marriage, in Scotland women always marry under their MS. Since official reg. you will see " formally xxx " xxx being their previous married name.

Hi Jim, Malcolm's death 1859 Auchterderran. He is also on the '41 and '51 census, working at Devonside Colliery Tillicoultry.      Looks like he may have married twice, children in household in '41 but no wife( children may not be his) .Marriage showing between 41/51
