Sorry to be a pain but do i go with 'gut feeling' or is there anyway to confirm which one??
Thanks again

p.s. witnessses to his marriage were Elizabeth Payne & John R Roberts. Walter & Ann were married in The Parish Church, Tywyn.

Hi Panda
Thanks for looking but i don't think it's them as Richard was Walter's father.
I cant find anything on the 14th battallion except that they may have been a 'home guard' type unit.

thanks again

Hi Jane
No i haven't been able to find any record of him and as he died in 1925 there are no members of my family who know anything about him.
I have looked at some 1901 census but cant find a match
thanks

I have tried all the ways i know to try and find out more about my great grandfather, but thought i would try one last time on here as you are a clever lot!!.
My g/grandfather was Walter Davies.  As he died in 1925 i only have the information off his wedding cert & death cert to go by.

Walter Davies married Ann c Rowlands Sept 1917. His age at time was 23. His fathers name on the cert is Richard Davies, occupation farm labourer.
Walters address at time was Rhydgarnedd llanegryn, his occupation was Private 14th battalion S. Lancashires.
Walter died in Tywyn in  Nov 1925 (age 32)

Has anyone any ideas of where to look next? I really am stuck!!
Thanks
Jane

Hi
My great grandfathers name was Walter Davies. The only thing i have on him is his wedding certificate.
He married in 1917 and gave his occupation as Private 14th batt south Lancas/h. He married in Tywyn, Merionethshire and his address at the time was LLanegryn, Merionethshire. He was 23 yrs old.
As he died in 1925 i do not have any other information on him, ie where born, exact birth date.

Thanks for the help so far.

The Common Room / family Tree Makers??
« on: Tuesday 12 August 08 17:02 BST (UK)  »
I have tried a couple of family tree maker programmes and found that both wouldn't let me add parents without having to have them as married.  i.e illegitimate child both parents are known. Also they were very akward to navigate.

Can anyone reccomend a family tree maker??

Thanks
