Thank you Dundee - this is really helpful. I am quite a novice at this and don't always consider that names have been transcribed incorrectly.

Much appreciated

Great thanks Emelton - I had spotted this before but was not sure it was them. Still no luck on finding a marriage for them or their parents though - really stuck on this one. Will have to keep digging!

Thanks

Can anyone help please?

I have completed some research into my great grandfather Samuel Mathews ( B1853) and his parents Thomas Mathews ( B1820?) and mother Ann ( B1817, registered deaf). I have Samuel with his parents in the 1861 census ( RG06 Parish 4095 District 90 page number 17) and the censuses that follow that. I do know for certain that the family took a ship to Pennsylvania in 1849 so no UK census for 1851 for them and they returned to the UK probably 1852.

Where I am completely baffled is, where are Samuel's parents in 1841 and also I cannot find any marriage for them or any details of their parents? ?

If anyone can shed any light on this and point me in the right direction I will be thrilled  ;D

Many thanks

Pembrokeshire Lookup Requests / Re: Pelham Davies & Hester Garrett

Thanks to all for your help - much appreciated. As you  say, purchasing the marriage certificate will give me the definitive answer! It is odd however that I cannot either of them on census prior to their wedding? Oh well...will have to continue searching with more 'wild cards'!

Pembrokeshire Lookup Requests / Pelham Davies & Hester Garrett

Hello

can someone help me - I am really stuck on this one!  :)

I know that my great great great grandfather was Pelham Davies ( worked out from census as born circa 1791) who married Hester Garrett ( worked out from census as born circa 1800) around about 1839. I believe their marriage was in the Oct/Nov/Dec quarter Vol 26 Page 1023. Can anyone find out any more info as I am struggling - I am hoping for place of marriage/possible parents names. I believe Hester was born Lawrenny area and they lived Penally area at some point.

Many thanks

Hello

I have just found a new bit of research on my family and see that my great great great aunt Mary Morris married into the Merriman family - I have the 1901 census where she is home in Warren with her mother ( Esther Morris) and her children Ashley and Muriel but there is no sign of her husband. She is listed as married, not widowed so I was wondering where he may be?

Also, she is listed as a 'rabbit merchant'.....any idea as to what that was?

I welcome any help to get me 'going' on this  :)

Thanks

Pembrokeshire Lookup Requests / John Morris Born 1806-1813? Warren or Carew?

I have been researching my father's side of the family and a bit stuck. Hoping someone can help me?

I have the name of my great great great great grandfather as John Morris ( I know he married Jane Dawkins in 1827 at Warren church and I do have a copy of 1841 & 1861 census ) no luck with 1851) and know he was living with his son William in 1861 but no sign of his wife Jane?)

I have two queries - what happened to Jane? can't find a death?

Secondly, would love to find more out about John's parents?

Any help would be very welcome ;D

Thanks
