In 1911 the family are living at 17 Green Lane Walsall.  Dad William states he is a painter working for a coachbuilder. Dad was born in Manchester Lancashire, and Mom in Kates Hill Dudley. There is a website www.bilstononline.couk that could help with information about Bilston  You need to be posting on the Staffordshire board too.  :D

There is a listing showing as Wis Strickland Tatham as an unassisted emigration to New South Wales Australia but to access the record you need worldwide ancestry which unfortunatelu I don't have.  Perhaps someone else can assist you.

You have missed one death that is a possible.

Jackson  Richard  33  Manchester  8d 191 Deaths Jun 1871

Deducting the age from the year of death it matches with Richard Matthew Jackson.  His death is probably the reason for them ending up in the Workhouse, you can obtain the workhouse records which would tell you why.

Thomas must be alive in 1911 or she would be shown as Widow and she is not.

John was a Master Mariner they could have been at sea. It was not unusual for the wife to go to sea with the husband.
