Northumberland Lookup Requests / Re: HELP! Cockburn/Carr Lookup request
« on: Thursday 06 September 07 10:56 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Found the following children baptised at the same church as the marriage.  St Nicholas newcastle.

Parents George Cockburn and Mary

Mary bp 18/8/1776
George Thomas bp 13/11/1774
Thomas bp 27/11/1778
Jane bp 12/1/1772
Sarah bp 25/12/1781.

If this George is the correct one then these are his brothers and sisters.

Northumberland Lookup Requests / JOHN JOHNSON - GOSFORTH
« on: Monday 20 August 07 23:02 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Wonder if anyone can locate a John Johnsons birth/baptims for me.  He was born 1801 but on some census records it could have been as early as 1797.  On later census records he was listed as being born in Chester le street, but on early census it states he was born in Gosforth.

Haven't been able to find any more about him.  I don't know his parents or brothers or sisters so any help would be appreciated.

Northumberland Lookup Requests / Re: Marriage Newcastle upon Tyne - St Nicholas

Thanks for the replies.

I did notice that Eangy - a strange surname as haven't heard of that one before was the only one I could also find.  No surnames of that on census.  So thought it was quite possible.  That it could in fact be earnshaw as stated on the birth certificate of their child.

Thanks anyway for the advice

Northumberland Lookup Requests / Marriage Newcastle upon Tyne - St Nicholas
« on: Saturday 18 August 07 23:53 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Wonder if anyone can look at the following marriage for me or get me a copy of this as would like to know what info there is about this couple.

John Johnson marriage to Sarah Eangy 28 March 1830.

I have been trying to find the marriage of John and Sarah for a while and haven't had much luck because I have been looking for Sarah Earnshaw as this is the name that I have on the birth certificate of one of John and Sarahs children.  Thought that Eangy could actually be wrong.

But I am not so sure. I suppose I could have actually purchased the wrong certificate.  But everything fits.

Any help and suggestions would be appreciate.

Pembrokeshire Lookup Requests / Re: Another look for Anne LEWIS 1841
« on: Monday 23 July 07 10:32 BST (UK)  »
Hi

John Rees and Anne Lewis were listed on their marriage certificate from Cosheston and they got married in Cosheston.  I do know that John was from Narberth or so it states on the census records.  The witnesses on the certificate one is unreadable the other is Thomas Rees.  So I am presuming that Thomas could be Johns brother.

Pembrokeshire Lookup Requests / Another look for Anne LEWIS 1841
« on: Wednesday 18 July 07 21:39 BST (UK)  »
hi wonder if anyone can locate an Anne Lewis for me on the 1841 census.  she was born around 1816 and on other census birth place is Llawhadden

I did ask a while back as I was after a Anne Lewis who is the daughter of Evan Lewis who is a labourer.

I thought that I had found the 1841 census for her with help.

this is Wiston, Pembroke,

Evan Lewis head 50 labourer
Mary 50
Ann 30
Martha 27
Griffith
William Rees lodger 15
John Hill 5
Jane (Manter ?) 2

Ref. HO107/1445/21/16/10

Though this was the correct family until I searched the 1851 and Anne is still at home. But Anne married in Cosheston in 1846.  Another clue was that a William Rees was a lodger there and Anne married a John Rees and he had a brother william who was the same age.  But I have william already on the 1841 with his parents.  (Presuming that the family I have is correct)

So where could anne be and of course still looking for an Evan Lewis who is a labourer.

any help or tips would be appreciated in what to do next.

Hi

Do you have the 1891 census of Albert and his family.  It would give us something to go on.

Hi

The marriage between Robert Byers and Anne Pearson was 29 May 1760 at Bothal with Hebburn in Northumberland.

Will see if I can find anything about their children
