Help I'm stuck!!!!

I am trying to find the parents of William Templer.

William was a private in the Somerset Militia, he was recruited into the militia on 7/7/1803 at which time he was stationed at Taunton.  The militia moved from Taunton to Exeter, Southsea reaching Plymouth in 1809.

1813 William married Mary Roach in Stoke Dameral.

1815 he was discharged and granted an allowance to carrey back to his home - Taunton.

There was also a James Templer in the militia who was discharged at the same time, also to Taunton - not sure if they were related on not.

Any information or clues as to where I might find any information regarding William's parents would be greatly appreciated.

I ahve ancestors who came from this region and migrated to Australia in 1863 and would love to know what it was like then.

I am trying to trace the family of William and Elizabeth ALLEN, thought to have been at Glenmaquin.  They had family of John, Elizabeth, Margaret, Susan, Rebecca and Martha (b c.1842).  Martha migrated to Australia and married in South Australia to John Telfer.  Martha was my great grandmother.
When in Ireland late 2004 went to Rathmelton and the research centre there did some research for me but were not able to shed any light on this family, other than that they are mentioned as being resident in Glenmaquin, Co Donegal (near Raphoe)

Any information would be appreciated or suggestions as to where to try and get more info.
