Scotland / Re: Rashida Jones WDYTYA

It's appeared on mine too.

Seems to now be produced by Lisa Kudrow who did her own episode. I'm sure Sarah Jessica Parker was already done on WDYTYA in the UK.

I'm sure they also showed at least one marriage certificate from the Gorbals in the Rashida Jones episode but didn't mention it was a Scottish certificate. I also thought that perhaps her mother had a connection to the Lipton family in the UK but again nothing was mentioned. I suppose they are only about half an hour long.

You can find the Glasgow Herald and Evening Times newspapers on Google Newspaper Archive FoC. Unfortunately though, there is no great search function and you have to search by going to the specific date of paper you are looking for and then "reading" the paper.

Sorry unable to help with finding the grave, however, noted that you state a son was born in 1905 and refer to the "paternity index", not sure what you mean by this? If an Action for Declarator of Parentage was granted, there would be a Register of Corrected Entries (RCE) document attached to the original birth entry and would also be shown by an annotation stamped in the margin on the original birth entry. This is the only way that you would know whether a Decree was granted.

Just wondering if Alexander was any relation to James Purdie otherwise known in Paisley as Ta Ta Bella, one of the Paisley characters? Purdie is not a common name.

Hi,

I just spotted this post :)

My husband is connected to the Sandilands of Fife and  back to Abernethy! His Grandmother was Christina Adamson Sandilands (1889 - 1974) and she married James Bain (1890-1976). Her Grandfather was her first ancestor from Abernethy John Sandilands (1823-1869).

Kind regards,

There is a William Caldwell death in the British Columbia records aged 40 (I know a bit out) on 24 March 1901 in Revelstoke. There is no image but these are the details:

Registration Number:1901-09-173606
BC Archives Mfilm Number:B13106GSU
Mfilm Number:1927134

Perhaps someone on here and living in the area could find out more? Or if you write to the Records there?

PS there is also a Scottish Lithuanian Social Club in Bellshill, perhaps they can help with family research?

@EKAnnie if Adam is the Adam who passed in 1953, his death certificate should show the names of his wives
