The Common Room / Re: baptised twice in the same quarter? help!
« on: Thursday 16 May 24 09:19 BST (UK)  »
There's a baptism marked "PB" recorded Sept 1845 - which pre dates the Minister that baptised Jane Hannah taking office.
Checked baptisms up to Dec 1849 and no "PBs" recorded in the register with that officiating minister still in office - unusual.

"PBs" and how they were recorded vary with ministers and also the recording of any subsequent "receiving" - which was not a baptism.

Have you checked the Ontario papers - https://search.ourontario.ca/

For example, Daily British Whig, 30 Apr 1903 - see bottom of col 3

United States of America / Re: Julian de Ovies and Eleanor, nee Cassidy

There's more newspaper stuff out there about Julian than you can shake a stick at - but the bulk relates to specific years eg 1906 and 1910.
I've seen reference in the papers to his 1891 marriage thru' Blanca's 1927 death - they married in Spain. Any confirmation of this?

"Some Barton children are claimed to be born Stapleton"

Can you clarify exactly what you are trying to establish?

Are you asking for assistance?
I can't detect any questions in your post.

I wondered the same.
The issue popped up again in March 1848 as "Petre v Duncombe" re. "annuity of 600l. a year to one Downs". The Times report is pure "legalese".

Petre's entry in Parliamentary Histories does not mention the matter.b
