Please tell me more about the William Jones from Ystradgynlais who you are researching? Would he have married a Rachel Morris and lived on Pelican Street during the 1891 census? If so, he would be my great-grandfather. Please reply to me at (*) Jan

Family Bibles / Rowlands family bible in Wisconsin
« on: Saturday 10 July 10 19:41 BST (UK)  »
I have just gotten into my possession an old Welsh family bible that lists Thomas Rowlands, his wife, and all the other children and their birthdates.

I would love to know what to do with this bible because it has no connection to my family (other than being Welsh). Please e-mail me at (*). I am in Cedarburg, Wisconsin USA.

We were able to take pictures of the inside cover of the bible to at least give you an idea of the information inside. There doesn't appear to be any other information written in the bible.

I also have a memo from 1981 that was found inside the bible. It gives information about Rev. Daniel T. Rowlands, Mary Ann Williams Owens Rowlands and their family. Also there is a photocopy of Rev. Daniel T. Rowlands obituary from the Slate Democrat newspaper of Aberdeen, South Dakota from Friday, July 23, 1897.

I see that all my scans are too large to attach here, so if you e-mail me, I will be happy to send them to you.

Hello Mair - I read your post from 2006 searching for the Rowlands family.

Cornwall / Re: BENALLACK Family - St Just and Ladock Cornwall
« on: Tuesday 16 March 10 18:29 GMT (UK)  »
John Bennallack (b. 1833 d. 1885) married Jane Searle (b. ? d. ?) on July 5, 1856 and their marriage produced Elizabeth Emma (b. ~1857 d. 1900) and Hannah Jane (b. ~1858 d. ?). Jane subsequently died.

John then married Mary Trethewey (b. ~1842 d. ?) and they had at least 8 children. I have more information on those children, and also on Mary Trethewey's family.

What I'm trying to figure out is what happened to Hannah Jane Bennallack. I am a direct descendent of her sister Elizabeth Emma, and I have the full family tree from her on down to the present.

After some correspondence with other searchers, I have come to find out that Hannah might also have been recorded as "Anna" or possibly "Susanna" or "Johanna" so that complicates the search.

I am beginning my Bennallack search but haven't gone as far back (yet). I have John Bennallack married to Jane Searle in 1856. They had two daughters (born in St. Austell) and then Jane died. First daughter is Elizabeth Emma (my great-great-grandmother) and second daughter is Hannah Jane. I have the full descendants of Elizabeth Emma, but cannot figure out what happened to Hannah Jane. Does any of this sound familiar or can you help with some advice?

« on: Tuesday 02 March 10 21:02 GMT (UK)  »
I have hit a brick wall with regards to the Benallack family of cornwall. I am a direct decendent of Stephen Benallack born Ladock abt 1675 and Elizabeth? I am 99% sure that Stephen was the second son of Stephen Benallack and Kathrin Scawen married 1658 at St Just Penwith, both were born St Just Penwith. I know they also had a son John Benallack who married Margery Edie at St Just Penwith but there doesn't seem to be any information on Stephen. Can any one point me in the direction of a birth certificate or other information that might help me put together the pieces. I have tried the opc for Cornwall but they have no information. Any help would be appreciated.
