I know this is a late thread, but the reason Frederick Gosnell is not on the 1901 Census is he was away fighting in the Boer War.

Hi,

I was in contact before regarding my 3x Great grandmother Maria Anthony. I have just discovered that her Parents were Abraham & Susannah, not Abraham Anthony and Ann Knight as I first thought. It would seem that Abraham & Susannah had
Lydia born 20/1/1789 bapt 13/2/1789.
Jane you know both born Coggeshall.
then they moved to Paglesham where they had
Charlotte bapt 18/8/1793  died 15/6/1794
Maria       Bapt  18/8/1793
Abraham Bapt   14/12/1794
Isaac       Bapt 5/2/1797

Susannah's husband Abraham was buried 26/7/1798 Paglesham, Essex.

I didn't have much time to find out anything else hope this is of some help. It looks like we may be connected.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

I found the Parish Registers on line and the Anthony's go way back in Coggeshall.

Isaac and Rhoda Anthony are my 3 x Great Uncle & Aunt.

I will have to go back to Paglesham records  and check Isaac's parents name again in case I have the wrong names.

If I find any further info on the Coggeshall Anthony's I will let you know.

Once again thank you for looking at your data base

Regards,

Hi,

Thank you for the info.

If you give me you e-mail, I can let you know about the removal order and other info I have gathered.

Very interested in this thread.

Benjamin Guinn and Maria Anthony are my 3 times Great Grandparents. They had 8 children from 1816-1837. I know that Benjamin and Maria spent some time Cheshunt, Hertfordshire as I found a Removal Order back to Bow in 1818 with their daughter Maria aged 2. They had 8 children from 1816-1837.

How far have you got?

I know this is rather an old thread but I have just come across it having only just found my possible connection to the Coggeshall Anthonys.

I have established that my 4 times Great Grandfather was possibly the Abraham Anthony baptised 1767 in Coggeshall. My 3 times Great Grandmother's brother Isaac, although born Paglesham, Essex 1797, was living in Coggeshall from at least 1822 to his death in the 1870s which implies a connection with the Coggeshall Anthonys.

My Abraham married an Ann Knight and they appear to have had at least 3 children in Paglesham including my 3 times Great Grandmother Maria.

Have your researches thrown up anything which might make a connection with the above?

You mention having checked the Coggeshall Independent PRs. Where did you find these?

I would very much appreciate any information.

Thank you.
