Hi,

My name is Naomi Sands. I live in the Bahamas. My father was from England. His name was Edward Hayling. His mother (my Grandmother)was Olive Hayling (Nee: Poulton). Her father (my G.Grandfather) was James Henry Poulton born in Nympsfield on March 10th, 1872. His father (my G.G.Grandfather) was Edward Poulton. Edward Poulton married Mary Ann Chandler. They are shown in the 1881 census for Uley as living at Crawley Hill. At that time the census only shows Mary (Head of the family) so maybe Edward had passed away by that time. They had 4 children shown on that census-- Augusta, James,Elizabeth and Emily. I have no idea who any of the ancestors were before then. I'd love to know if my Poulton's are related to your Poulton's.

Hi,

My name is Naomi Sands. I live in the Bahamas. My maiden name is Hayling. My Dad was Edward Hayling. He was born in Dursley, Gloucestershire on April 28th, 1939. We can trace the Hayling side back to Philip Hayling (my paternal Great Grandfather) who married Ada Florena Gwilliam. Don't know the date of their marriage but it must have been around the late 1890's. My paternal Grandfather Bert (Bertie) Hayling had 7 siblings:William, George, Louise (died when she was young), Christopher (went missing), Daisy, John and Phyllis. As far as I know they lived in the Cheltenham area. Bert (Bertie) Hayling was born on May 4th, 1911. Have you ever heard of this particular line of the Hayling family? Unfortunately, my Grandfather Bert lost track of most of his siblings over the years and I would dearly love to find some of their descendants.
