Sorry, I made a mistake earlier, I don't have his brother.  I recall having a Brodigan boy who died and thinking he was MF brother but did not have evidence.  Do you have any details of the brother? MF had 4 sisters on the census and they emigrated to England (Goole in Yorkshire).

That Michel Francis is my granddad and his sisters, I have some details from the 1901 Census and birth details but apart form the grave in Cord cemetary detailing his parents I have not been able to get any further.

Thanks for the help and interest.

Thanks Sean

Looks like a bit of a dead end there if there are no records, I guess that I would have to see the stone (if it is still there) to see if there are any other details about Peter's parents.  I know there were a few Brodigan's in Drogheda at the time but I cannot connect Peter with any of them.  He was very young when his parents died and I cannot find any siblings, but I suspect he had a good few aunties and uncles.  One day I will have to go and visit and see if I can find out any more.

Regards

Phil

Louth / Brodigan Family - Drogheda

My grandfather (Michael Francis Brodigan)was born in Drogheda (possibly Sunday's Gate) in 1895 and moved to the UK in about 1901.  His father was Peter Brodigan and may have been a captain in the merchant navy.  I believe he paid for a memorial in Cord cemetery to his parents Patrick and Anne but cannot confirm this.  I have details of the family after their move to the UK and records for the 1901 Irish Census, are the records for the cemetery available anywhere?  Does anyone know anything about the family?
