I'm a descendant of Thomas Girling (b.1695) and Mary, née King (b.1695) who were married in 1712. They are the furthest back that I've been able to trace my family and was hoping someone with access to parish records might help find more information about them and possibly take me further back.
I've seen references to Mary as born in Eye and/or Fressingfield, but nothing further and know that they lived in Stradbroke. I don't know where Thomas was born, but the Girlings were from the surrounding area. The surname has also been spelt as Grenling, Grenlinge, Grenlynge, Grenlyng, Gyrlynge, Gyrling, Gyrlyng, Girlynge, Gurling.
I know their children are listed as being born in various towns in the area (Lydia, in 1717 in Fressingfield, John in 1719 in Stradbroke and Elizabeth in 1726 in Fressingfield) and I know that 4 subsequent generations of my family, along the Girling line, lived in Stradbroke.
I'm hoping I can find leads to go earlier than Thomas and Mary as well as get any information that might shed light on the lives/occupations and places ancestors lived.
If anyone is able to access the parish records for this, I'd love to hear from them - particularly as I'm living some 17,000 kms away in Australia.
Thanks in advance for any help!
