Thanks so much everyone. It’s especially interesting to see the mug!

I have now found out that my ancestor was involved with the Independent Order of Rechabites, a temperance movement, so this must be the occasion.  :)

Durham / Photo location / occasion help - Gateshead 1905-1910
« on: Tuesday 13 October 20 20:00 BST (UK)  »
Hi, can anyone help identify the likely occasion for this photo?
My great great grandfather is the man with the bushy moustache standing in the centre and his daughter one of the small girls in the front row, which dates it between about 1905-1910.
The family lived in South Street, Gateshead at this time.
I’m specifically interested in identifying the sashes they are wearing.
Many thanks

That is far from useless as it helps with my dates! Thank you very much

Thank you both, I have a potential candidate in the 9th battalion of the Northumberland Fusiliers, who served as a Drummer. But I’m not sure of exact dates he served. He was born in 1898 so WW1 is likely.

I think this is the same man in both pictures, unidentified but from the family album with predominantly Northumberland/Durham connections. Can anyone confirm the regiment(s) from the badges?
Thank you very much  :)

Thanks for taking the time to look everyone. The date does help

Please can anyone help with an approximate date for this photograph? I am sorry it is not the best quality image, I only have a copy of the original. There is a chance it could be my 3 x great grandmother and a date would really help.

Bottom left reads "Hirst via Morpeth North2"

Bottom right "Pentland? and at? Hare-Law Annfield Plain"

Thank you
