Tyrone / Re: James PURVIS of Tyrone 1720-1801

Dolway Purvis born Ardboe Co Tyrone townland of Mullinahoe Farm still known as Dolways to this day Maybe there were more Dolway Purviss elsewhere but Dolway would not have been a very common name A lot of Purvis families lived in close proximity in that townland and would have been distinguished by there first names rather than their surnames

This may be of no relevance but there is a bridge between Coagh in Co Tyrone and Littlebridge and the older people always called it Seetons Bridge Now it is actually in Co Derry which is deceiving as its on the main road between Coagh and Cookstown both in Co Tyrone

Hi Michael Susan married a Robert Mc Garry Think John Magee is right as Patrick would have only been 16/17 in 1880 Have family records for the Magee and Mc Cann families and I have bits and pieces of Mc Garry info as they are intertwined everywhere Will do a bit of looking at what I have and work backways

Hi Susan Mc Garry who married John/Patrick Magee was my great grand mother. She had 2 sons Henry  who died young and Charles my grandfather. John/Patrick Magee died in his twenties and Susan Magee remarried a Mc Garry and had another son The Mc Garry family she married into lived about Sandy Bay Another relative researched these families but its hard to get my head around all the Mc Garrys as my grandfather and Felix Mc Garry firstly married 2 sisters Cassie and Helena Mc Cann and then he married a second time to Mary Jane Mc Garry I have come across others researching McGarrys but to me they have families mixed up

Look the U S census for Kalmer township Olmsted in 1880 it gives Margaret Happer mother in law to Joseph Edmiston/Edmondson so he married Elizabeth Happer and in 1885 a George Happer age 64 living with them The connection here is that there were Edmondsons in Kilsally The census should connect these families as there are entries from 1860 to 1900 and probably beyond that Margaret Happers age is given as 86 in 1880
