SA Records have some records for the Destitute Asylum and Board.
http://www.archives.sa.gov.au/content/social-welfare

I think SAGenealogy may have some records in their holdings.  Been years since I've visited their premises.

Marriage
KEMP Robert  23 years  Status Single  Father Unrecorded [not recorded on SA certificates until post 1856]
PETERSON Elizabeth Jane  Age FL  Father Unrecorded
23 Jan 1856
At St Paul Church, Port Adelaide  Ade A 25/102

Nine children from 1853 to 1873.  Three born prior to marriage.

Deaths -
KEMP Elizabeth Jane  34 years  Status Married  Relative Robert KEMP [Husband]
4 Oct 1873
Residence Port Augusta   Death Place Port Augusta  Fro 54/137

KEMP Robert  52 years  Status Not recorded
25 Oct 1873
Residence Port Augusta   Death Place Port Augusta  Fro S 54/266

I can't check Elizabeth's age on her burial record as the Old Port Augusta Cemetery's records were destroyed by fire in 1944.  Her death notice has her age as 34 years.   If she was of full age in 1856 then should would have been at least 38 in 1873.  She had her first child in 1853.

Cando

Thanks cando.  I've also noticed that there is a big difference between Roberts recorded age on the marriage record and compared with the one on the death record.  I'm leaning towards the death record being more accurate as it has newspapers entries to back up the age.  Thoughts?

Found a warrant for R. Roy White issued in Port Broughton, South Australia in 1930.  Was wondering if anyone had anymore information relating to the crime and if he was ever arrested.

Arthur death cert says that he had no next of kin so either ruby died before or they had divorced.

She is referred to as Elsie Fletcher on Arthurs army enlistment form.

I found a death record in the NSW bmd for an Elise White died 1985 born 1895.

Could this be her?!

I just bought the death certificate and it says that Arthur died of malnutrition from chronic alcoholism  and makes no mention of Ruby.

It also says that he was living at the Gill Memorial Home details below:

This Salvation Army hostel for homeless men was located at the corner of Wills and a'Beckett streets. The four-storey brick building was bought in 1928 and after renovations was opened in September 1929. 'The Gill' could accommodate about 300 men per night and during the depression thousands were provided with food and shelter. World War II alleviated pressure on its services but during the boom years of the 1950s and 1960s many veterans suffering from war neuroses sought sanctuary there. Despite periodic renovations and improvements to facilities and services, the dormitory-style accommodation was increasingly seen as inappropriate. In 1988 the Army moved the homelessness service to the Flagstaff Centre in West Melbourne and 'The Gill' was sold and subsequently redeveloped as luxury apartments.
