Yorkshire (West Riding) / Re: Missing Will? - Francis Hobson Potts, Barnsley

Hi Rosalind
Francis Hobson Potts was my Great Grandfather.
There is quite a bit of research about him on my tree on Ancestry.
Get in touch if you want to discuss findings.
Regards

Hi
I am truly humbled by the work that has been done on the photo, many many thanks to everyone.
I will ensure that they are on display when Sgt Wilkinson ( I think he was promoted just prior to the Somme battle) is represented at the service at Blyth Battery on 30/6 by his surviving Grand daughter.
We have had his details added to the computer records at Thiepval Memorial and will ask them if they want to replace his picture with a colour copy.

Hi
I wonder if anyone can add a bit of colour to the attached photo.
He was killed on the 1st day of the Somme battle and his grand daughter would love to take a copy to the church service on 30/6 for the brave local men who died on that day.
Many thanks
Frank

Hi Pat
You can PM (pers  Msge) me after you do 3 posts, so do another one and it should be ok.
I have been trying to reunite the medals for Geoff for a while now, so he will be delighted.

Hi Pat
I have tried to PM you but it won't send as it says your mbx is full.
Can you try me?
Cheers

Thanks for the restores and apologies if this was a duplicate of a previous posting. I had a quick look at my online tree the other day and noticed I still had a crumpled photo of Edith. I had done some work on the wallet contents of my Great Uncle and had worked out that the lady in the pic was not my Great Grandmother but a Great Aunt , hence the name change.
The pictures are brilliant and I have found out that she died shortly after it was taken in really tragic circumstances, so they are extra special.
Thanks again
Frank

Sincere apologies to the restoration friends who have done great work on my pictures. I thought I had posted a thank you and am afraid I missed it.
The last few weeks have been very fraught to say the least - new job, training courses and my step father being diagnosed with terminal cancer - if I took my eye off the ball and upset you I am truly sorry. A gentle reminder not sarcasm sometimes works better.
Best Wishes
Frank

Hi All
Another photo from the shot up wallet of my great uncle.
This is his sister and neice Lily.
If you can remove the creases that would be wonderful.
Many thanks
Frank
