I'm looking for descendants of Madge Doherty who was born c 1795- 1815 The Parks Buncrana. She married a Doherty and settled in Druminderry. Her father was Anthony Doherty, The Parks, Buncrana.
She had a sister Mary who also married a Doherty, The Cove Buncrana. She had a brother Manus
who settled in Iskaheen who is my ancestor. Another sister married a Canny and settled in Carndonagh. She was also related to an Edward Kearney, Carndonagh. Would be grateful for any information.

Regards,
M

Donegal / Re: Francis Little
« on: Thursday 15 October 15 19:52 BST (UK)  »
Thanks Rathmore. I have the Clonmany information, but nothing before that. His father might have been called George? Francis named his first child Geo. born 1845. A few years ago I looked for Littles
births in St. Michael's ( Trory, I think), There were plenty of Littles but I couldn't connect them.
The records for the Old Church in Straid are all missing. I posted on the Fermanagh page in the hope
that other Littles might recognise the Francis L:ittle who died in Clonmany. He may also have had a connection with the Revenue Police.

Fermanagh / Francis Little

I'm looking for information about my g grandfather Francis Little Born c 1806 died 1886 and is buried in Clonmany Co Donegal. He was the postmaster in Clonmany but he was not born there. My parents said the Little family came from Fermanagh. "The Lough Shore" was often mentioned too. They were Church of Ireland. Francis (Frank) married Elizabeth (Betty) Doherty or Sheil. She was RC.

Thanks for your reply. I have Aidan Manning's book. I think the records are all in Kew. I was told recently that it was Francis Little's father(possibly called George) who was the Revenue Man. James Little, son of Francis, was also Postmaster and after that he was the Emigration Agent for the Anchor Line. The Clonmany Littles were related to Littles in Redcastle. They had a James, Francis and George too. I'm still trying to work our the connection. Growing up I was told the Littles (1) came from the Lough Shore, and (2) from Co Fermanagh. I was also told that Francis and bride might have been
married at home. I don't think so,because I found out from COI records (PRONI) that he was very involved in the running of the Old Church at Straid (Clonmany). His signature was on a few documents.
Are the Post Office records in Kew as well?
