Thanks for all you help, this just gets more confusing the more you find out.
As far as I can tell my Samuel William Bowen was born in Peterborough in the UK. I don't think he was Sir Samuel, I think that is someone else ………..

 there is more information found, and to be found, but it has not been posted because you have not responded, despite having been online many times since you asked for help and started this thread. The more you engage with those people making posts to assist you, the more you are likely to get out of the forum.

For what it’s worth, I think the “Sir” title may have been self-appointed, by Samuel.

(There are a couple of possible deaths for George in Bengal – most likely is in 1861)

   Rose appears to have been adopted by Samuel William Bowen, as she married as Rose BOWEN in 1876 to Peter EASTWOOD. Issue:- Maude Ethel 1879, Mabel Edith 1881, Frederick Percival 1886, Rosalie 1889.

The three girls Louisa, Rachael and Esther were also baptised at St George on the same day as John Charles but recorded on a different page and parents are John and Elizabeth, rather than Eliza, residence is Queen Street, not Kent Road.

I wonder if the Queen Street address is an error, carried on by mistake from the previous baptism of a different surname.

I am not having any luck finding when and why he became "Sir" Samuel Bowen, or any connection to Peterborough.

As the OP is not responding, I think I'll take a pause.
