@MonicaL the valuation is really interesting as there is a Higgins and my Michael Knight b 1862 married Letitia Higgins but her father was Patrick Wallace Higgins.

Well, thank you again

Thank you all again.

Yes @MonicaL - they had James, Michael, Daniel and Thomas. Michael is my line and as with all of this information, I knew nothing of a trial him and his father were involved in.  I clearly have some reading to do!

thank you all - I am so grateful for your knowledge and insight.

Any idea what the first name of the son is? It's an abbreviation and I am not sure if it is James

Thank you all so much - this is all really interesting.

So I am guessing my 3xGreat Grandfather, Daniel Knight, who this relates to, must have worked for James Turner as it does also state Thrushgrove on the death record.

Many thanks indeed! Sounds like he was in the thick of it as he didn't die until 1863, aged 48.

Good to know, thank you Lodger.

By the way, I noticed you have kindly posted a list of headstones in New Monkland cemetery and, as the headstone was missing for my ancestor, my Mum bought a memorial which we placed August 2023. Would you be able to add her name to your list in case anyone is looking in the future?
Location is New Monkland Cemetery, ref 292 Section I.

We have since discovered her mother (the lair owner) is also in the lair so we do plan to place another memorial stone. Her name is Agnes Tuff Christie Thomson born 12 Jan 1850

The image is too large to attach.

I will have the image put on findagrave.com too.

Thank you.

Thank you Forfarian! Long time, no chat :)

I have found her marriage to my ancestor, Robert Morton, which shows her as Ann Brown with her father's name as Ferguson.
