I only have information ,passed down from older relatives ,They said Martin  originally came from Kilronan Aran to the mainland ,where he enlisted in British Army ,he served some time in India, how he ended up in Mallow nobody is sure ,but there were army barracks there at the time ,and indeed also In several surrounding towns ,so it was always assumed he was stationed down south of Ireland ,possible maybe before he went to India

I am trying to find an army record for Martin Flaherty ,1875, the only record I found was from nationalarchiveuk  .It said he was discharged to reserve Mallow 1887.He was B Battery 4th Brigade  Royal Artillery regiment, regimental number 7920,ideally his attestation papers or indeed any information ,or service record ,would be brilliant ,I live in Ireland ,so not really possible for me to go to Kew ,and even if it were possible ,I wouldn't have a clue where to start.Thank you .

Since I wrote initial enquiry, I have since ,learnt ,Martin served in India, but cant find any army record for him by the time he married in 1888,he didn't list his occupation as a soldier ,so we presume he had left Army by then .any help would be greatly ,appreciated
