Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Re: Edward Payne circa 1900

Thanks Carol, I haven't restored anything for a while, so I rushed it a little, I used to do it for a job about 20 years ago, I mainly colour old black and whites for pleasure now. I wasn't looking for something to do, I came across it whilst looking for the name Payne. I love old pictures and I thought if the person who wanted it done, wanted to print it out they'd have a job finding a long thin frame so thought I'd just make it bigger  ;D ....the other restorations posted below mine look amazing!  ;D

The built up version so it looks more suitable for a frame

I haven't done one for a while, I did one the same size and another I built up the edges slightly using artistic licence so it was a little wider.

Hi not sure if this will work with a link. I have a collection of photographs if anyone is interested in looking through them, they are on flicker. They are of the Friends School in Penketh and taken in the 1920s. There are lots of group photographs of all the students and teachers and some other bits of ephemera.  :)

Cheshire Completed Lookup Requests / Re: Penketh, Warrington - ASHTON
« on: Monday 12 February 18 19:10 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Peter, this message is over 10 years ago so you probably know this information by now. Henry Ashton is my GGG Grandfather, he was a cabinet maker, he married Harriet Thornely, her sister Mary Susannah Thornely married Robert Garnett also a cabinet maker from Warrington, he had a large cabinet making factory there (incidentally as I type it is being demolished   :'( ) and they were neighbours in Penketh. Henry and Harriet's daughter also called Harriet married my GG Grandfather Thomas Doodson who was a cordwainer and the sub postmaster of Penketh Post Office. I still live in Warrington. I found your message because I have been trying to find out more information on Solomon Ashton from Stockport, did you manage to find anything out? I found another child called George born in 1807 as well as Harriet, Mary Susannah and Elizabeth. I wasn't sure if they'd had a child called William too. I'll post this and see if you get it. Regards Paul Doodson
