Tipperary / Catherine Mary O'Grady
« on: Saturday 11 August 18 20:19 BST (UK)  »
Hi, looking for details on Catherine Mary O'Grady born in June 1910 to William and Mary O'Grady. There is a death of a Mary Catherine O'Grady of the same parents. Are they the same person or twins? Because there are death records of Catherine Mary dying in India, including the father, William O'Grady who died around 1928.

Yes I did, and even spoke to the Brownlow family (2nd wife's). They told me he was putting it about and was forced to marry his second wife. They didn't have any kids. As for the girls, in another post, I read that he was set up or some sort. His 'son', my grandad was born in 1902. From the dna of my father, about 3/4th is from the British Isles, Anglo/Welsh and Irish (his mother being Irish), and a quarter is from South East Asia/China etc. Basically someone of Khasi/Assamese descent, which seems to match the narrative that he might have gotten a local pregnant and then adopted the child.

There was a Jane Pengwern Jones born in the 1850s, whose father was David Jones and mother Mary Williams, who ended up in Argentina. The problem it says is that her mother also died in Argentina.
Our Jones ancestors were not very original with their names. Too many named the same.
My dad's and my DNA test is also iffy as his father was supposedly adopted by JP Jones, but according to the family of his second wife, JP put it about and from what I can trace, my grandfather is actually related instead of merely being adopted.

Thanks for all the help.

So from what I gather, JP only had a sister named Jane, instead of a brother named William?

Hi, I'm looking for details on my great-grandfather. He had two wives, first married to a Jane Powell (1865-1887) who died in India and later he married again as a missionary in India.
He was born on 13th June, 1859 to David and Mary Jones. Does anyone know if he had a brother (William?) and any details of his family?
