Thought it might be you, John, but took the chance as you normally spell it Auchmowtie.
Kind regards,
Mima

I am Auchmutie related through John's sister, Catherine, christened October 25, 1674. She married Andrew Ingles and their daughter, Elspeth, married James Henderson. James and Elspeth were my 5xg.grandparents.
I descend through Andrew Henderson born 1735 and married to Janet Fife, and their daughter, Catherine who married George Grieve in 1790 in Markinch.

Hi. Jap,
No, nothing. Thanks for your interest. I'm still trying to find further information about my 4xg.grandmother, Janet Curror(or Currer)
born Cleish.

Hi, Derek,
I do agree about the least visited board, but I live in hope of finding long-lost relations.
My g.g.g.grandmother was also a Mary Drummond but she married John Bruce in 1802. I believe she was the daughter of John Drummond and Margaret Paterson. The Drummonds appear to have originated in Kinross and moved to Markinch before Mary's marriage. Don't know if this is of any interest to you.
Regards,
Old Scoonie

Thank you both. That one in Errol in 1780 sounds promising. The date would fit.
Yes, that's the family in 1841 census for Star. I have Mary's death in 1847 from the Fife pre 1855 death index but unfortunately no trace of John there.
Many thanks for your interest.

The marriage of John Bruce and Mary Drummond is in both the Markinch and Errol OPRs. As Mary was of the parish of Markinch I'm assuming that John was born in Errol. The marriage was in 1802. Mary died 1847 aged 68 but I have no death for John. Their first son was William and second daughter Elizabeth which might indicate that John's parents were William and Elizabeth. Anyone out there who might be able to fit him into their tree?

Many thanks. I can't fit these names into my tree.
I've had a look at my Redpaths and can't at the moment connect the names on the stones with any of mine BUT who knows I may find a connection in the future.
Thanks again.

Thanks to you both. I have the books you mentioned. Just hoping that someone else may be researching this family and able to fill in some of the missing pieces. Never satisfied!

My 4x g.grandmother was Janet Currer who married William Arnot in Cleish in 1750. Have been able to follow the line after this marriage but am not certain of Janet's parents.
Anyone out there able to help?
