Ayrshire / Does anyone know where an online tree is for this person?
« on: Tuesday 14 April 20 19:10 BST (UK)  »
Hey, so there is this guy in my family I cannot get any information except from DOB (date of birth) and DOD (date of death)
The person is James Cunnigham Whiteside who was born 03/09/1923 and he died 02/12/1989.
He married Janet Carfray Mclean in 1945 and they had 3 children together.
I only know James' mothers maiden name was Cunnigham. I can't view his birth, marriage or death since it is within the privacy years.

My grandpa was called James McLean Whiteside (1947-2007) his parents were Jessie (*)1923-? and James (*)1921-?
I was wondering if you could tell me about there parents and family. Otherwise I would've used scotlandspeople but I dont have credits.
James married Margaret (*) in 1969 and they had one daughter, they broke up in 1978 and divorced fully in 1980.

Ayrshire / Smillies

My maternal grandmothers maiden name was Smillie, her dads dad was Joseph Douglas Smillie, 1896-1964. I am trying to figure out who his parents are but I'm not sure.
Joseph Married Isabella Brown Little, niece of famous scottish MP James Brown.
They had 3 children, Isabell Smillie 1921-1994, John Smillie 1923-1996 (my great grandpa) and Ann Smillie 1925-2013. Joseph had a brother called Robert Smillie.

That'd be right, because my great gran elizabeth's middle name was owens which would probably have been taken from elizabeth owens.

Alright I think I have figured out a bit of the confusion, you see Catherine Steeds (b. 1901) daughter was Reena, her name on this grave https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/128892577/catherine-kerr-samson is Catherine Kerr Samson but then the family members are how they are related to Catherine Kerr Steed (b. 1901).

There is a Catherine on deceasedonline and this Catherine died in 1980, which my grandpa told me.
This says her middle name is Elizabeth which could of came from her mother, Elizabeth if that is her mothers name, and John Steeds parents on the marriage certificate to Agnes McMurran are as says John Steed and Catherine Steed maiden name Kerr.

Hmm, I have a birth certificate of Catherine Kerr Stead and I comfrimed with her daughter (my great grandma) that her middle name was Kerr, it said the parents were called john steed and agnes mcmurran. I got that from my friends computer on Scotlandspeople, she could have died in 1979, also no I don't have a sub on Ancestry though from her birth certificate I think what you, monica got may be wrong because on her parents marriage certificate they were both 21 meaning they would have been born in 1879/8, her parents were married May 7 1900
