Devon Lookup Requests / Re: Hesketh - baptism 1859-60 Torquay

Maureen you are a star!  I've looked at all permutations except for Winifred with just Bamford as surname. Straight to it as I've been a subscriber of FindMyPast for years so I've now got all the details. I'm thrilled.

Devon Lookup Requests / Hesketh - baptism 1859-60 Torquay
« on: Saturday 24 April 21 16:04 BST (UK)  »
I've searched and cannot find where the registers for St Saviour, Tormoham are kept. Can anyone tell me please? From somewhere quite a while ago (before I started making sure I kept my sources) I found a reference that Winifred Bamford Hesketh was baptised at Torre, Torquay. She was born in Tormoham in April 1859 and I'm looking for a baptism.

Hi Carol
What an amazing transformation! Thank you so much - it means a lot to me that you have taken so much time and effort to help me with this photo. The great grandchildren will be delighted.

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Alexander Reid b.1882
« on: Thursday 17 October 19 19:08 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone
This photo which we think is about 1911 could be a wedding photo but is the only one we have of Alexander as a youngish man. Could someone please get rid of creases etc so that younger family members have clearer copies of the photo. No colouring required thank you.

Many thanks

Hi Pluto
Welcome to Rootschat and thank you for replying to my old post re Abbey Grange. I never did find out what my people were doing there so this could be the catalyst to get me looking into that branch of the family again. I'll certainly have a look on Rightmove to see details although I'm certain it will be out of my price range!

I believe this quilt was exhibited at Ruthin Craft Centre in 2014 so they may be able to tell you where it is kept from their records.

Cumberland Lookup Requests / Re: Joseph Jackson born 1859 in 1901 Workington

I went to prepare a meal and came back to all this wonderful information. Thank you Sandra and BumbleB. Sarah M M went on to become a teacher. Husband's grandmother was one of many children, stepchildren and half siblings from two marriages each of parents so quite involved but it's coming together. Let my findmypast sub. run out in July but I will have to renew - I'm having withdrawal symptoms!

Thank you so much Sandra. This is definitely the right daughter and there is a step mother involved later so possibly Margaret is the stepmother. Joseph and his siblings were born in the Asby/Griseburn area so Greasborough/Griseburn?? I'll need to biuy the birth certificate. Your help is much appreciated.
