Hi

Yes thats the picture.  I have also been into Stockton Library and looked at the photos of Bryan.   I have found a Martha Ayre in 1851 in Stockton but not sure if it is her, it could be that they have spelt her name wrong, cant figure out what it says her occupation is.

Is it not Dress Maker?

The word looks more like drip than dress, but have found it is not her anyway.

Thanks

Have checked 1851 census and Martha Ayre 28 is living with her mother Martha Ayre 71 and also Elizabeth M Toole 5 who is still with her 10 years later  -   so she is not our Martha.   Never mind will keep hunting.

No sorry I don't know why he was in goal in 1841, but it cant have been too serious as Anne Isabella was born in January 1843.  I think that him being a attorney it was probably for fraud.

Hi

I also have that John Tweddell was in Durham gaol in 1841 and I have Mary Tweddell marrying Richard Brown Hall on 15 Oct 1868, they had a daughter Isabella Brown Hall born 30 Jul 1869 in Saltburn by the sea but I have not found any other children. I have Mary dying in Darlington 26th May 1882. She moved about a bit during her life Stockton, Surrey and Darlington.  As for Bryan and Martha in 1851 could they have been missed of the census because they were moving about.  I have the photo that you are talking about and I think we have been in touch before.

Who is the photo of?

I am also a descendant of Martha and her fancy man Bryan

Martha had eight children in all 4 to John 1 of which died and 4 to Bryan.  I am also intrigued as to what happened to John Tweddell.  I know where Martha and John were in 1841 and John in 1851 but I have never found Martha. Could  it be possible that she was travelling from one place to another and was not added to the census.
