I am really pleased to hear that the museum was able to give you so much information.  It is certainly a treasure trove of Frome information. There is now a housing estate where Butler & Tanner were in Caxton Road  ::)

Garstonite, That lengthy thread (link given earlier) already has the marriage of Andrew and those baptisms of three of his children.  His and his childrens lives are well covered on there but we did not find anything on him prior to his marriage in 1805.  :)

I suspect that people did look in Liverpool when researching on your other thread, I certainly did but it is always worth asking again  :)

I wonder if any of the museums / archives hold information on brass founders working there

I am assuming that these are records of birth registrations where the parents are not married and therefore entered on the register with 2 different surnames.  I have not looked at all of the duplicate entries there but did not see one where the districts were different.

Hopefully AntonyMM will spot this post as he may be able to answer it for you.
