thanx for the info i have had a look and it is really interesting
my nan was put in a work house when she was born as her mother died giving birth to her and her dad was in the forces her dad came to collect her when she was 2 or 3

hi i am looking for information on work houses in the bury st edmonds area around 1928 my nan was put in one when she was born as her mother died giving birth to her and her dad was in the RAF  her dad remarried and came back for her when she was 3 and went back to the RAF and left her with her new mother.
my nan doesn't remember much about tha actual work house but she says it was in the bury st edmonds area. has any one got any ideas.

this is all great info i will look in to it all.
i am not sure on a specific year yet  i am waiting for info from my nan as i am searching her father who was in the RAF all i know is that he flew and crashed a plane it was a depot dual E8742 i have attached a photo of the plane i don't suppose anyone knows anything about this type of plane. i don't even know where this man was stationed he was called joseph walter haldenby but went by the name of walter. thanx missy
