Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: 1901 census South Manchester
« on: Wednesday 07 May 08 22:47 BST (UK)  »
Hi MUM44,
Thank you so much for this extra information, it is so kind of you, this is my father's side of my family, unfortunately I have no living relatives on his side to ask for any information, my Grandmother Mary Winifred Hynes said she was born in Ireland, I don't know why, it was only when I got her birth cerificate that I found out her Mother's name, I did know her Father was Thomas from her Marriage Certificate. So Thank you again
Kind Regards

Lancashire Lookup Requests / 1901 census South Manchester

Hi,
I hope someone can help me look for my Grt-Grandparents Thomas and Mary Ann Hynes (Hines) with children Catherine 3, Mary Winifred 4 months and possibly John and Joseph, I'm sorry I don't have any other ages. On my Grandmother's birth certificate dated 3 December 1900 their address is 35 Great Jackson Street, Hulme, Chorlton District. I am desperate to find Thomas and Mary Ann's ages and Nationalities, as we were always told my Grandmother was born in Ireland until I recieved her Birth certificate.
Thank you in Anticipation

Hi Steve,
Thank you so much for this info, I had John and Maryann's children except Ann and William, I think Ann must have died as they called their next daughter Annie. I do have the MI booklet, their son David died aged 5 in 1878, so I would have thought they would have put any other children on the stone. John and Maryann had a farm at Sandmill Stoneykirk. I think their son John ran it after their deaths, he died in 1941 and then the trail runs cold. Will check Scotlandspeople for Brabson's parents, as I am sure he is related. Thank you so much for your help. Will have to check in the library next time I am in Stranraer.

Beenie

P.S. I have Sarah with her children Thomas 14, William 9 and twins Sarah and Annie 1, in Port Logan on the 1881 census, she is described as Seaman's wife, Brabson is very elusive!

Wigtownshire / Shields 1861 census Kirkmaiden
« on: Wednesday 20 February 08 15:14 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All,
Could someone please please help me with this family;

Ann 50, Rosanna 20, William 18 and Brabson Shields all born I think Ireland.
Ann's daughter Maryann married my GG Uncles John Chalmers in 1860 in Kirkmaiden and I am trying to piece her family together, I know from her marriage certificate that her father was dead when she married. The family aren't on the 1851, so they must have moved over in between.  I'm not sure if there are any other siblings, so I would be most grateful for any further information. Also where John and Maryann Chalmers (could be Chambers ) were living

Hi AMBLY,
Thank you so much for this, Alexander's Grandmother was  Sarah Main, so William and Alexander may be cousin's and that explains why Helen is with them. I can't find William Maine's birth, on the 1851 census he is listed as being born in Portpatrick, which isn't far. It's a shame about Elizabeth Dickson.
Thank you again for your time.
