Hello Lesley There is no marriage record for Saskatchewan as Vital Statistics has not done the marriages yet.

I have found Daisy on the 1921 Canadian census for Swift Current and she is still single so she married sometime after that year.

According to 1926 census records William came to Canada in 1916.

Daisy's full name is Daisy Viola Hartel .

I have found the headstone pictures for William and Daisy both buried at Sunset Cemetery now known as Resthaven Cemetery.

I can forward them on to you if you don't already have them. Just send me a PM. They had no children.

Antrim / James Smyth /Jane Oakman

Looking for anyone on  list who has a connection to James Smyth Lisburn, County Antrim.

From the Belfast Newsletter 5 May 1818
On the 1st of May by the Rev.Mr. Higginson. Mr. James Smith of Lisburn to Miss Jane Oakman dau. of Mr. William Oakman of Pigeontown near Glenavy.

Lately at Pigeontown,Parish of Glenavy where he had gone for the restoration of his health Mr. James Smyth of Lisburn, aged 40 He was clerk in the Marquis of Hertford's office for upwards of 20 years. In this situation he conducted himself with such prooriety,  integrity, and faithfulness as merited and obtained the unqualified approbation f those whom he connected. His mild unobtrusive manners and kind obligiing dispositions procured him the estimation and respect of all who came within the circle of his acquaintance . A widow with a very numerous and promising progeny, remain behind to deplore the irreparable  loss they have sustained by the premature death of a affectionate husband and tender parent.

I do not know how many children were born to James and Jane or what happened to the children. I do know Jane remarried to a William English and they immigrated to Canada along with 2 children George and Isabella.

If there should be anyone on list who has a connection to James Smyth or might know how to find the names of the children I would appreciate hearing from you.  Odd that the children did not come to Canada with their mother for whatever reason. Wonder how many she had maybe 5 or more.

Another bit of info on James Smyth/Smith he was baptized Catholic  in  1-9-1789 parents William Smyth and Anne at Dublin,Bray.

I appreciate any help.

Thanks Rosie I have sent off a email to the cemetery, fingers crossed that she is there and they can provide a burial location. I suspect she could be in a common grave.

Her death cert will probably be next on my list.

Cheers

That is her. Someone sent me the following Evelina Harrod age 75 Residence Fawsley Hotel,
Sundury Hill, burial date 12 May 1951, Torquay Cemetery

I am wondering if there was a misspelling on her first name or the person sending it misspelled it.

I have her living in 1931 at Lincombe Road, Torquay, Devon she may have moved around while living in Torquay.

I have done some searching on Billion Graves and Find a Grave for the above cemetery but no luck.

A obituary if there is one would certainly be helpful but not everyone had a obit. I am pretty certain she did not keep in touch with my grandmother after she came to Canada in 1914 and not known if she kept in touch with her parents and other siblings who all lived in Essex.

She is my brick wall, hopefully this death record  might be her. Fingers crossed.

Thank you Rosie that death looks like it could be her, 75 years on the death would make her born 18
76.
